The crown's appeal of the April Halkett verdict will be heard April 13th.

Halkett was found not guilty of child abandonment, after she gave birth to a baby boy in a toilet in the Prince Albert Wal-Mart bathroom.

Halkett claimed during the trial she didn't know she was pregnant, and she thought the baby was dead when it was born.

The crown argued during the trial she should've checked anyway.

The appeal was delayed after Halkett's lawyer, Ajay Krishnan, passed away.
