It’s almost been a year since DAVID BOWIE’s death.  He died a year ago next Tuesday.

There’s been a lot of talk about how Bowie kept his declining health private from everyone, and that his last album “Blackstar” was meant to be his swan song.  But that may not have been the case.

According to a documentary that’s airing on BBC2 tomorrow night, Bowie didn’t know he was dying until three months before he passed.

Supposedly he found out his cancer was terminal while he was filming the music video for his last single “Lazarus”.  He’d written the song long before, but the video has him singing lines like “Look up here, I’m in heaven” from a hospital bed.

But that wasn’t a secret message.  He came up with the concept a week before they told him he was dying.

The documentary is called “David Bowie: The Last Five Years”, and the director says it’s unclear if Bowie even knew he had cancer back when he wrote the album.  If he did, he didn’t tell anyone at the time.
